They are so amazing. My oldest, Chester, will crawl into my shirt, curl up on my shoulder, and sleep. He's sat in there for over 2 hours before! I know people say that they dont really like people, but he knows who I am! He freaks out when other people hold him, but when I do, he's totally calm. My other 4 are still young, so I dont hold them as much. They are too fast! If you let her get one, I would definitely purchase one from Kathy Love. Her site is Cornutopia.com. She is a really awesome lady. She's really helpful. I've emailed and called her and she has been nothing but awesome. I bought my last 4 from her. Sheesh! Get my started on snakes and I never shut up! LOL. But you should definitely let her get one!!

Thanks for the sites theOEGBman!! I have no problem with her getting one. I love reptiles!

Her Dad though has a fear of snakes. She asked him last night at the dinner table if it would bother him if she got one.

His relpy was pricless..

He told her. "I would only care if you told me it was missing!!"

I about blew my water out my nose!

PM me about them I am always want to learning everything about a critter before I get one!!

My son's corn snake, Saphire(a 4 foot blue), knew us. If she wanted anything she would rise and sway if we walked into my son's room. She escaped twice. Each time she returned a few days later laying at the door of his room. Wildlife educators use corn snakes as ambassadors to educate folks about snakes. They are easily handled and calm typically. They are also gorgeous.

That is where she saw them for the first time. Back when she was in elementary school they had a reptile rehabilitator/rescue come into the school and talk to them about the wild reptiles native to our area and they also brought in some of their rescued exotics.

She was picked to help out on holding the snakes. She feel in love with them and about freaked when she saw them pull out the cornsnakes!! She was use to playing with our boring colored Gopher Snakes and King Snakes out here she had NO idea snakes came in "Such pretty packages" as she calls them!

My parents HATE snakes. They cannot stand them at all. It took me 7 years of begging to finally get one! He's wrapped around my neck as I speak, lol. They are seriously the best snake to start off with. My dad wont even sit in the same room with them! Its pretty hard to be the only Reptile lover in the house, lol.

I would definitely love to help you with anything though! Let me know!

*BTW! I didnt realize you were in CA! I am too! Im in Central Cali, right next to Modesto. I know of a good Corn breeder or two here in CA. PM me if you want some info! *

Hope you dont mind, but here is a picture of my oldest snake, Chester.
