hey all! we are finally back at the hotel and we are so stuffed from the most DELICIOUS Syrian cuisine ever!
we were just so blessed to meet Omran and Angela. they were the perfect host and hostess. they welcomed us like family. in fact, Omran had to come 'find' us as we got turned around on some Kentucky back roads. he had a huge smile and waved like he'd know us all his life.
Angela came right out to meet us upon arrival and made us feel right to home. we got a tour of an AMAZING chicken coop set up. (the pics on Omran's personal page don't do it justice at all! it's incredible and immaculate!)
then we sat down to a meal that would rival ANY Middle Eastern specialty restaurant. in fact, it would put them to shame. this roasted beef that melted in your mouth with potatoes roasted in the pan juices and a chopped salad with olive oil and lemon juice that was too good!
our kids kept raving about it the whole way back to the hotel! and they just loved Omran and Angela. the kids felt comfortable and enjoyed the visit.
and then delicious brownies baked by Angela and coffee for the men. more chatting and hugs and hand shakes. we were presented with a beautiful, hand crafted gift that Omran made himself...
a beautiful nest box!
Omran and Angela, we would be proud to visit again anytime, and would be happy to host you to our home for supper if you make it up to Michigan! we thank you from our hearts and you blessed us so much! thank you, Angela for the lovely gifts and for the fragrant sage plant. we will enjoy the plant for a lifetime.
we too wished the visit could be longer! it was just wonderful.
we went to the aquarium today and had many adventures with 'Roscoe', one of the BYC mascots! follow link for pics of today's fun!
