look what got hit on the road near my house 15miles away

Oh, poor guy...Probably having a hard time finding a meal and here comes a big hunk of metal on 4 wheels and runs him over. I wouldn't be proud if I hit him. In fact I would more than likely cry. I cried when I thought we hit a possum.

This picture looks photoshopped. If you look at the background you can see where the editing has "fogged" out the background and I think those dogs would be showing a litttle more interest in the cat than looking at the camera. The cat is in the exact position in the picture above it woth the guy in the green coat and look behind him at the trees in both pics! JMHO

well there was an update in the paper yesterday they are pretty sure that this cat was not a pet but they are still waiting on DNA work to see if it came from South Dakota or maybe Colorado populations
This cat was not known about in any studies on cougars (i guess there is a DNA data base for cougars)
so this cat was new to the area and a sub adult disperser (young male kicked out of home area by adults) looking for new territory

this mt lion was hit just out of Bemidji MN(56601) about 15 miles from my house
the guy hold n it is a DNR officer

I know this is an old thread, but just want to mention that I live 10 miles outside of Bemidji on Big Turtle Lake and we had what I believe was a male and female mountain lion cross my property in May 2017, just a week or so after fishing opener. It was about midnight. We never actually saw the lions, but there were 2 distinct growls. One was a female sceaming like crazy for about 15 minutes, and the other sounded like a much larger male with a very low, rumbling, growl. Some neighborhood dogs were barking like crazy. Our dog ran into the garage and would not go out. Lived here for 30 years and seen lots of wildlife, but first time for a mountain lion encounter.
