You did a fantastic job. Sure beats sacrificing counter space.

Is buddy in Sweetwater? If so, we took a trip down there a picked up 18 hatching eggs. Black Copper Marans. I also ordered some and now have 20 BCM chicks about 4 weeks old. Right now I have some silkies in the incubator for a friend's daughter and some Plymouth barred rocks for me.

Yes, well Niota, TN, actually...it was a fun day trip. He's such a nice guy. Also got 6 BCM chicks and 2 Wheaten chicks from him. Wish I had known you got some eggs from him earlier, dh & I would have asked you to ride along with us when we went on April 25th so you could visit him again.

Congratulations on your NPIP status!

We took the grandkids with us and stayed at the hotel there at the exit with the indoor pool and then took them to the Lost Sea before we went to Buddy's.

I will have to sell some of the rooster's. If you are interested let me know. I can't tell them apart right now.

Sounds like you and your grandkids had a wonderful mini-vacation.

I'm wondering what I will do with my extra cockerel chicks and I have no idea how many more will hatch out this coming weekend. Dh has mentioned the possibility of processing some later on at a friend's house because the man has the space for that. Have you thought about selling extras at the Jonesborough flea market?

I may try to sell them on Craiglist. My nerves couldn't handle the Flea Market

I may process some of them too. I am in the process of rounding up everything to make a plucker. I have no problem processing them, I hate plucking them.

I hate to process Black Copper Marans tho. But will have to do something. I will also have some barred rocks to process.

I plan on staining it after this hatch. I'm not going to use the hatcher until after it's stained and the oder is gone. Plan to set it outside and let it dry really good and be odor free.

Stain and seal the wood inside and out before using, otherwise the heat and humidity will warp the wood. When the cabinet isnot in use, the wood will dry and crack. I suggest midwax marine grade spar varnish for the final coat.

By the way, looks great.
