Look What I Did!! Cute and Easy!!

Hey Everybody!!

I got inspired reading the "What are you making for Christmas" thread this morning so I went to the craft store and came out with something totally different than what I went for!!

I saw a pattern for a cute hat but did not want to pay $16.00 for the book that it was in. They had one made up on display so I looked it over, bought the materials that I thought I would need and came home to figure it out. One hour later I had made the hat. It is soo cute and will be what I am making for all my nieces and nephews.!! After I figured it out with the cost of the fleece they will be about $2.00 per hat or less!!

Hangin' - It took me only about an hour total!!

Newnanchick - There really isn't a pattern but this is what I did...

I purchased two different colors of fleece (these just happen to be my kid's school colors)

Measure around the kids head - divide by four and cut strips of fleece a little bigger.

Sew each strip together alternating colors to make a tube. - I did this by hand but I am sure you can use machine.

Turn tube so that wrong side is out and fold bottom over 1 1/2 inches -sew around.

Put on a childs head -or take a wild guess like I did- and figure out where you want the crown of the hat to be -Mark the spot

Cut strips from top of the tube down to your mark.
Turn the hat so that the right side is now out.

Gather the top just below where the strips end and tie with yarn. It does not show!

TaaDaa you have a cute hat!! I do not write patterns for a living obviously!! I hope you can understand the directions. Any questions you can PM me!!
