Kansas~50+ yrs of chickens
My guinea population had dwindled down to 6 guineas over the last several years. The last 3 or 4 years they hadn't raised any due to the dogs finding the nests or the few that did hatch didn't make it to adulthood. So this year I decided to get some eggs to hatch from a fellow BYCer. I had a great hatch and hatched 18. This afternoon I took my housedog out to pee and this is what we found in the grass by one of the grain bins......now I'm going to have more than I wanted!

Keets are some of the cutest babies. How many are there? I think I counted 8 in the photo.

Somewhere between 8 & 10 I think....I couldn't get an accurate count. I'm sure the next time I see them there will less of them. They were heading out into the weeds in the cow lot.

How cute!!

Just watch them to make sure she doesn't loose any. My hen hatched 9 babies and lost everyone of them by the time they were a month old.

I love hatching baby keets, I've always done it for a friend that asks me to hatch for her but can't keep any right here at the house. They are so cute when they hatch out, alot different than hatching chicks. Quick little buggers!

Too cute Katy!!!
