Look What I Found on Craigslist!

There has been one at the closest thrift shop to my house for weeks. However, its door hinges are broken so it will NEVER sell, probably. I've been eyeing it for a long time thinking of offering $5 to take it off their hands (they'll probably refuse). I just know I have to be able to come up with a use for it. Incubator did cross my mind but I don't need that. It wouldn't make a good brooder.

What I'm kind of tossing around is the idea of using it to grow mushrooms (not the loopy kind...)

It's looking very good. If it was me, I would double the height of the rack so the chick will not fall out after hatch.

Drooolling... I might die of dehydration from losing so much drool.. oh the possibilities

I've had it plugged in and running all day for testing purposes. Plan to run it empty for a while to make sure it holds temp. Then I'll play a little with humidity and test for temp verations from top to bottom. Humidity went to 0% an hour after plugging it in. I don't know if its the guage or if it actually droped to zero. But that's the kind of things I need to make sure of before I put some eggs in. chillmiller I'll let you know when testing is done. And I am more than willing to throw some eggs in for you too. I am thinking about testing till time for Mahonri's hatch along. What do you think? But I will be beggging fertile eggs because mine won't be laying till around the 1st of the year.

That is way too cool! And creative as hang...
I built a bator into a dorm room fridge last spring... I use the GQF auto turners on the shelves... it's one of the best bators that I've ever made... I used two 15 watt GQF heating elements and a GQF waffer thermostat, it holds within 1 tenth of a degree...

ROFL wouldn't go over well at my job when I got arrested for it. With my luck, I'd be arrested before they were even big enough to harvest.

I do have a "Little Golden Field Guide to Hallucinogenic Plants" though. Seriously, the same little golden guides that publish field guides for birds & flowers & stuff. This one is clearly from the 60s...
