Um? I don't think they are full sized yet, they are only 8 months old.Beautiful!! So are they full sized? I can't tell in the photo!
No they are not bearded, just they way they turned their heads for the pic makes it look that way. Also they are very sweet so far.Oh how lucky are you!?! They're beautiful. I have a LF Black Cochin roo who's about 10 months old, he's such a sweetie pie. Are your hens bearded? It could just be the picture, but they look bearded to me. So cute!
Those spirs are HUGE! Holly cow! The lady I got mine from told me it was ok to go get them while she was at work, and I didn't even think about it untill I got there that I would have to catch a Rooster and his ladies by my self. I was sure that I would leave bleeding in some way, but had to try! They were suprizingly very easy to catch! My kids even cought the rooster and the girls a few days later ( even though I told them to leave the roo alone, don't want him to get mad at the kids) Your guy is very cool looking! They are a good looking group of chickens. I love my jumbo Cochins - they are quite sweet tempered. My rooster is three years old and has spurs that are three inches long, but he has never tried to kick me. This is not the best photo of Colin, but you can see one spur among his feathers. Zeus is a great name idea. You could go to a Greek mythology web site and get inspiration for the hens' names, too.
