Look what I got today....

608 Keets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW
You have been busy. On Saturday I was sitting on my hands............because @ the auction the had keets in lavender pied, and more RP und some have been pied too...........But my hubby bought 8 little fuzzy chicken ( he knew how disappointed I was, when my only hatchen Maran turned out as a roo) an some quials. My coop is now more then full and I need to thin out a little..................Please cross your fingers that the younger ones are more females than males.
By the way, do they fight bad over the girls? How can I manage that?

Yah, 608 keets so far and I have a HUGE hatch coming up this weekend (65+ eggs) and 2 more full incubators with no end in sight... yah, I know I'm nuts lol

lol.

Some have male aggression issues over the Hens, but I'm one of the lucky few that doesn't have too many aggression issues at all with my flocks. I attribute that to plenty of coop/pen sq footage, lots of perching/roosting space and lots of free range time. I have always sold off my extra males as tension and aggression started to build and that usually keeps things at a dull roar. Yes there is chasing and sparring, but I rarely have any bloodshed and NEVER any dead birds from aggression. You just have to find the happy medium for what works with your flock and your coop/run/routine.
