LOOK WHAT I JUST FOUND - UPDATE

They look a lot like my 4 week old jumbo cornish x rocks!

They are Cornish X and they appear about 3 weeks old. They will die from heart failure if too over heated so keep them cooler than you would a layer and plenty of food and water. They will prbably eat you out of house and home. You may need to fill their water several times a day.

I don't know that I would bother trying to find the owner sounds to me like they were dumped. They usually are ready for slaughter at 8 weeks of age. I would say you have about 5 weeks to go and in this time all they do is eat, drink and poop.

If you do not want to slaughter them yourself then I would find local butcher and getthem scheduled as sometimes they fill up fast.

Mine are 2 days old and I have scheduled their butchering all ready.

Good luck and enjoy they are yummy. Whoever dumped them is really going to miss out.

Well, I think the picture momto2 posted does look a lot like them. I was afraid of thats what they are, my first thought when I saw them, but I was hoping so much they are not. Guess I should be looking forward to the tasty dinner!
It had been in the 80's this past week, very hot for here, but the fog is back and its 60's, so I don't really have to worry about them getting overheated, but thanks for bringing that to my attention, I did notice they felt hot to the touch when I caught them. Where I found them on the road at, it is very hard to tell which house they may have come from, as for little chickies like that, its amazing they went that far. I do know a lady who use to butcher chickens and I am sure she would be more than happy to help me out there!

They do generate a lopt of body heat and they will continue to feel hot when you touch them.

Good luck

We just did 50 Cornish X's for the Hunt County Fair. The kids did them for FFA. That's exactly what you've got. We fed ours different food to make them bigger faster. We started them out on turkey started and gave them vitamins and electrolytes in their water. Then put them on Broiler Show Chow. Mine are only 7 weeks old and already weigh 10lbs each. Our fair ends tonite so we are going to process them tomorrow. I've never done it before but I'm gonna try. I got some advice from the other parents whose kids have been showing for years.

I've been told that if you allow them to free range and don't feed them the high protein food that they will live quite some time. But I don't see how. I've already had several die from the heat and I have a huge shop fan on them. One had a heart attack. You can tell if they have a heart attack because you will find them dead on their backs with feet sticking up in the air. Very sad...

Yaaay! I found their home. The boy was so happy to get his chickens back. Their was one still at their house.
