Look what I might be taken in update post 19

We have a deaf cat. He can be lying there sound asleep and you can crank up a chainsaw and he won't budge but if you stomp the ground he will jump. He can feel the vibrations. We love our deaf cat - He is a sweetie pie.

I hope this dog works out for you as I am sure he will!!!

My suggestion for few teeth is to soak his food and make it soft.

Go ahead and get her, hounds are the best. Even if she is old she needs a good home.

I am going to agree with others on stomping the foot. I had an older dog (had over 14 years, since a puppy) that went deaf and we used to stomp our foot...she would feel the vibrations and start looking around, and then we could wave at her to get her attention when she looked our way.

THE UPSIDE: no longer afraid of thunder, fireworks or loud bangs...never even noticed them! She didn't bark at the mailman for 2 hours after he left (she didnt notice he arrived unless she saw him).

I loved when my dog went deaf!
