That is pretty neat to see something like that. I had an owl get a broken wing once in my backyard and the thing was huge. Not sure what it was but they are so cool to see up close. Their eyes are incredible.

You are lucky with your fingers though. I had a pair of jersy gloves on and the owl clamped down on my hands and I thought I was going to lose a finger. Between the pressure from their talons and how sharp they were.

I think in your case he was too stunned to grip onto your hands. He looked a little out of it in those pictures.

Absolutely beautiful pictures. Im so glad the little owl is okay. Arent they incredible? We have great horned owls here, I think Ive seen them just a couple of times. They are just huge! But wonderful creatures.

screech owl for sure, i had a few where i lived before, they never bothered my stuff, i think great horned owls are the only owl you have to worry about

You might want to think about putting a yellow or orange or red dot on your window to keep that from happening again. Sometimes when the sun hits a window just right, the birds can't see it at all. We had one like that. A 1" yellow dot in the center of the window has kept the birds from hitting it. Good luck!
