POTW: write about a song that you absolutely love and why.
Right. So right now this song really speaks to my soul:

How deep the Father’s love for us,
How vast beyond all measure,
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure.
How great the pain of searing loss –
The Father turns His face away,
As wounds which mar the Chosen One
Bring many sons to glory.

Behold the man upon a cross,
My sin upon His shoulders;
Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice
Call out among the scoffers.
It was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished;
His dying breath has brought me life –
I know that it is finished.

I will not boast in anything,
No gifts, no power, no wisdom;
But I will boast in Jesus Christ,
His death and resurrection.
Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer;
But this I know with all my heart –
His wounds have paid my ransom.

It's the Gospel in just a few words. It shows how it is my sins, mine, and not another's, that have put my Savior there, upon the cross, to suffer and die for me. But He did not merely die, no. Death could not hold the Sinless One! There was a resurrection! And that, too, was for me. It is beyond explanation, it is a great mystery, the mystery of God's love. I've done nothing, and can do nothing, to deserve it. I can only stand in awe of it and receive it with holy gratitude.

A little house in the middle of nowhere. A place with wild skies and warm weather. A place not too far from the beach or the mountains. I’ll get ginko trees and Live Oaks (for Spanish moss) planted everywhere. I’ll have a pond full of geese and ducks. I’ll have a big old aviary, a barn, a greenhouse and a little gazebo by the pond. In the house I’ll have a bathroom with a huge bathtub, a cottage style kitchen, and a finished attic to serve as a living room, library, and place to keep my little odds and ends. I’ll have perennials planted all around the yard that’ll bloom throughout the year. Instead of a lawn I’ll have clover and wildflowers. I’ll have my dad put out a few beehives. Of course I’ll have chickens, sheep, and cows in the barn.

POTW: write about your dream house
I'm finally a Vermonter. We live in a small ranch with a view of the mountains, each with our own cozy office. There's not a neighbor in sight. No one ever bothers me. I build a chicken palace, that's even larger than the house, and invite every breed I've ever wished for. Despite my rural abode, it only takes me 10 minutes to get to the grocery store or hospital. We live here, happily, until the end.

Bonus Poem

Central air, I will install
Or else I'll swelter till the fall.
A standby generator's nice
Plus a garage to stop the mice
From nesting in our engine bay.
My dream home, I'll forever stay.
