Look what we caught in our trap....

Extra long weasel boxes with an eclosed bait box at the far end. And a small sniff hole to the exterior on that end. Large rat trap inside.

Also these around.
The opening on the weasel boxes that were pictured earlier aren’t big enough for a mink to fit through. Some might but definitely not all. That video is a mink box with a 110 like I said earlier. A rat trap won’t always kill a mink. I’ve had mink alive in a 110.

My conibear traps with a 110 catch mink, and my weasel boxes have a 3 inch opening. The rat traps dont always kill no, but traps have motion alert camera. What the trap doesnt kill, the .22 and I do.
Yep so yours are different. We agree then. Not like the weasel boxes that were pictured.

just going to say it again as am seeing people posting pictures of coni-bear sets. please follow your laws.

why am i doing this? as a trapper, any time some ones pet gets hurt, or some one breaks the law, every trapper gets a black eye by the non trapping public anti hunters are bad enough but dealing with anti trappers is another problem.

first off there not like a rat trap i would highly suggest checking laws and regulations on them. i don't know any state besides Alaska that allows the big ones to be used on the ground. maybe am wrong but who knows. so i would suggest looking at your laws regarding big coni-bears such as 280s and 330s

next please use lots of care with them. i have been caught by a 220 and i can tell you am lucky i did not break anything. my friend got caught in a 160, broke quite a few things in his hand. all depends on the trap make.

Lol. TX he can. I wouldn’t worry too much most people aren’t messing with those big traps.
Use a safety. ;) They work real nice.

like i was taught, treat everyone of them like a loaded gun when setting them. also maybe because lots of trappers here are in the bush and its hours away from the nearest medical center.

again like i said i don't know each state by state laws only what i have read by others. (but for some reason i do enjoy reading about other provinces/states hunting laws comparing them to ours lol)

just trapping gets it bad enough by the anti trappers/hunter crowd.

I agree that’s why I told him it was a bad example because most are setting around pets and chickens.
Doesn’t matter where you are a 330 is likely to break your hands. Always use a safety and keep a length of 550 cord with a loop in one end in your pocket when setting them especially by yourself.
If you get both hands caught well I don’t know what to say. I only use Belisles for anything over a 110 and the last thing I do is take the spring safeties off. That’s after I take off the jaw safety.
Even a 120 isn’t the easiest to get off your hand.

sorry got confused there.
the 220 that i got caught in was a pain to get off. not to mention the panic that set it. (was out badger trapping more scared one would come out of the hole and attack lol)

i use belisle traps as well for 120's and 160's but for beaver i use duke 330's

back on topic, i use a mink box i made that uses a 120 coni bear but put a 3 inch hole in a door (much like a weasel box) that puts the trap back and is pretty much coon/cat proof. so far i got a weasel and a mink with it.
