...black swan eggs!! Long story short...one of my relatives has 2 females and 1 male. The male has mated with one of the females. He still breed the second female but won't help sit on her eggs or take care of the cygnets. So she lays the eggs...then get off and on the nest a lot. My aunt brought them over to me to put in my incubator. She is going to taken them after they hatch and raise them until they are large enough to go back to the other three. The problem is that they are out on a lake and the hawks and owls keep taking the cygnets after they hatch.

If anyone has any experience with swans and hatching them...please chip in!

BTW...the other eggs are my black bantam cochin eggs...all growing babies!!

Man what I would give to have some black swan eggs........

Im hoping my mutes lay eggs this year and that they are fertile and hatch a few babies.

Ive been wanting to get a swan egg and put under a chicken to see if she could/would hatch it. I think it would be fun to try.

So cool! Please keep us all up to date as they hatch. I can imagine this will be an experience to remember for you.

Good Luck!

Ild be welling to bet that a chicken could /would hatch a swan egg, I was able to hold a swan egg and I wanted to put it under a hen, but I wasnt allowed to keep the egg or it would have been under a chicken. Ive hatched everything elase under a hen, except a swan and I would love to try it.

Care to send me an egg to give it try. LOL............
