"look"......why Dont I Have Eggs!!!!!!!!!!!

My 100lb dog is scared of my barred rock hen. She will stalk him through the fence and peck at him if he gets too close. She got him on the nose twice and since then he stays away, LOL!

I love the pictures! I know that, if they had access, our barn cats would sleep in the nest boxes. All the barn cats helped during coop construction and we often found them dozing in the nest boxes.

I have 4 barn cats, still kittens...they don't touch the chickens, one peck to the head, forget it they say....I have some humurous shots of the cats and chickens together...event he mama cats, ignore them. I would watch when they are baby chicks though...fair game then.

Our orange tabby started to stalk the hens, then red the rooster saw him and stalked the cat. Our cat was disturbed to be stalked, the next day started submissive 'show the chickens my belly' move and every since he hangs out with the chickens. He doesn't even mess with the bantams. We love watching him, he even dozes off with the chickens and he is a big time hunter. It s amazing how that rooster changed the cat's tune!

Our old farm cat enjoys the chickens, as long as they move slowly. Any fast moves and he's running for his life

I have several questions please help me out if you can .I have 15 chickens a mix of rhode island reds and isa browns. I started getting eggs about a month ago I raised them from chicks I got at a farm store back in late march of this year, and all lived ! .they are laying mostly on the floor of the coop and not in their boxes they take out the straw I put in their boxes I was getting about a dozen a day and have tapered off the last few days today I got 3 so far their not using their roosts either . They poop in their boxes and I've seen them sleeping in them some too. does the time of day you feed and water them have an effect?do fake eggs work to get them to lay ? in their boxes ? they have feed in front of them all the time their not using their roosts either they are friendly for the most part and I pet the ones that want to be petted every day I live in central west Mi...
