I went today and picked her up, a Splash Cochin Hen!

She came from the same people I got my Black Pair from. THey also gave me a Splash Cockerel, so that means I can breed the Black Roo to the Splash Hen and the Splash Roo to the Black hen and get....BLUES

We named her Tara (since the black pair are Rhett & Scarlett) Hubby named the little cockerel Stoney, he is in the house right now until we finish the other run tomorrow and move the 6 month olds out of the barn.

She is a standard and a good sized girl too! She is blind in one eye, but that doesn't seem to bother her. She is also very sweet!

Why is she blind in one eye? Was she born that way or did something happen to it?

She got an infection in it, the lady I got her from tried and tried to save the eye, but she went blind. She gets around fine. I just made sure that I showed her the food and water and how to get into the coop, she was getting around great, except for my BUff Orp hen being ugly to her, she has claimed the Rooster as her own, but that will change when I end up putting all the Orps together.
I need to try and get a picture of Stoney, our new little Splash Cockerel, he is a real cutie too!

Wow! She is great quality especially for being standard which are even harder to perfect!
