I dont have electricity or running water. My question is for winter wich ours are cold. Has any one heard of a battery heater for water? If so is there a link to order? If there isnt one how do you people keep the water from freezing? Just Looking ahead . Thanks Scotty

Any clue to how to get started ? Thanks scotty

I saw a thread yesterday that showed how to make a simple and inexpensive waterer that is heated. I will continue to look and forward when I find it...

If your going to live without power or water you should GET talented. You will need it

Hey, wait a minute. How are you online?

Maybe a handwarmer or something under the waterer. Black drip tubing coiled up in a flat box with a glass lid makes a solar water heater. You need a way to pump the water slowly through the tubing. And you need sunshine.

True its just that the coop is too far for me to run water and electricity to

I know im not the only one here with this problem? Was hoping someone mite know of a battiery source or a solar something? Would be great. Thanks Scotty

Using a battery for the actual heat will drain batteries fast. If you could use the sun (or the ground IE geothermal) to heat the water and use a battery pump (low slow flow) to intermittently pump warm water through you would get better battery life.

Remote powered gates use 12 volts (car battery) to run the motor and a solar panel to keep the battery charged.

You could use a 12 volt pump and maybe a battery powered drip system control valve (programmable?) to make cycle a few times a day maybe. The heat still needs to come from a solar water heater (black coils in a glass box)

You are probably more talented than you think. Most people are.
