Looking ahead - What are your spring plans?

Cackle and many more sell sexed ducklings.

Sorry you lost one. :hugs

Debating on whether to get more ducks over here. We only have two now as our Pekin unexpectedly passed in the night a month ago. We're surprised by how easy the ducks have been, these are our first, and we have room for more. I'm just not sure how easy it is to add new ducks to existing ones.

Our pekin was our layer, I would love to get another who will lay. Our current female doesn't lay very much at all.

I'm thinking about a swedish blue, a cayuga, or a welsh. Probably ducklings, as they are so cute and our kids enjoy bonding with them and watching them grow, but I don't want to take the chance on getting drakes so we would have to purchase them sexed. Not sure yet where to do that but we have time to figure that out.

If we can get a decent stretch with a deluge, we are building some breeder pens and a large grow out run for chickens. Then will be adding a large run for some geese. I have about 2 dozen eggs in the 'bator right now. A few are my own but the majority are a new chicken breed for us. The Bielefelder. Hoping to add some Embden geese, muscovies, and probably some rouens. When we'll be able to make it all happen is another story. We still have to get the goat's enclosure fenced so we can get them. Going to be a very busy year!

eek.. honestly? clear out lol.

My main flock which consisted of Muscovy got absolutely wrecked by predators the past couple years, i literately have ONE, yes ONE female left... ----> :barnie

So now i have a bunch of drakes.. yeah, that will end real great -Not- so i'd like to scale back massively...

My calls which are pets even got touched by predators.

I have had some real fun in the last year.. my heart isn't in it anymore..

This probably is not at all what you had in mind for spring plans but those are mine.
