If anyone knows where I can find 2 sabastopol eggs to hatch for our new farm please email me.
Would like to TRY to get a male and female any colors.
Thank you

This may sound harsh, but to "try" for a pair out of just two eggs is like wanting a goose who lays a golden egg.

First waterfowl require a lot of attention during incubation even under perfect conditions.

Add to it the trauma of shipping eggs through the USPS.

Now you are lucky to have a 50% hatch rate on shipped eggs.

Take two eggs, ship them, incubate (how much experience do you have incubating?) and hope to get a 50% success giving you 1 lonely single gosling.

This will lead you to scramble to find it another gosling friend. Days olds are shipped as singles, so now you have to buy 2-3 goslings to be with the oner hatched. Most are sold straight run or in pairs only. Now what is the gender of the the one you hatched?

If you want a pair, then you would be better off buying and have shipped to you a pair. Many of us have goslings now. Also come fall there will be a number of 2012 juveniles listed for sale.

Thank you for your response. Yes we have purchased eggs several times that came to us through the mail and we had an 85% hatch rate and sometimes even better than that. I am assuming you dont have them? I have 2 eggs that I got today from a farm that only had these 2 to sell. So I am looking for 2 more so that if I only get two to hatch we are ok with that!
Thank you for your opinion. I think we can accomplish what we have set out to do.
Next time a bit lighter approach might be nice.
Have a wonderful day!

We do not sell eggs this late in the season, as you hit the end of breeding season fertility goes way down and often eggs aren't fertile at all.

Having high hatch rates on shipped eggs is great, however we're they waterfowl? Totally different situation than chicken eggs which are very easy to incubate and hatch.

Good luck with the two you have, there are a few eggs listed on eBay you could always bid on.

As far as a lighter approach, not needed when dealing with stating the facts in a direct manor. I don't believe in sugar coating information just to make others "feel" better. Hatching waterfowl is not impossible, but is far more difficult than a simple chicken egg. Shipping them adds to that, so better to be informed the facts than told oh yeah go buy eggs and have fun hatching.
