Looking for a Female Mute Swan in Scottsdale, Arizona

Hi All,

My boss is looking for a female mute swan as a new mate for our male mute swan. His mate was killed by a coyote and he is very sad. We work at Paradise Memorial Gardens which is a cemetery and the lake in it is called Swan Lake.

Hi Chris,
Have you made any modifications to your pond/swan enclosure to ensure you don't lose the replacement swan to the same predator? I'd hate to see you go through the effort and money to get a replacement bird just to have the same thing happen again.

Hi Dr. Todd,

Unfortunately the driveways are not enclosed. It is a small desert area plus residential housing and coyotes roam around the neighborhood at times. The owners got a dog that has been trained to scare off any unwanted critters. This is the first time one of the swans have been attacked in the 10 years they have had swans. Our "boy" was hatched at Swan Lake. His Mom and Dad have flown off years ago.

Not sure where to go from here. Just trying to help the boss out. I just started with the company 3 weeks ago.
