My son (he just turned 9) really, reallllly wants chickens for his birthday. I told him I probably wouldn't be able to get them so early in the season, so he'd have to wait.
Does anyone have any Silkies, Cochins, or other fairly tame chickens that they would part with? They don't need to be show quality or perfect, but they need to be healthy because they will be pets. I would rather start him with older birds than chicks and was thinking of getting a few hens and a rooster. They will be much fussed over and loved.
I am in the Idaho panhandle and can drive to pick them up or meet, etc.
