I have a hen, she is usually with our neighbors chickens but as of late she's been keeping her chickens in. My chicken is a free roam, she has now made friends with the wild doves and neighbor ducks since the other chickens have no outside time. Just looking into sites where someone needs to re-home a hen that I could take in.
I've checked local human societies and craigslist but no luck.

:welcome Hens are in short supply right now as many are looking to expand/develop flocks during the corona 'crisis'.

Yeah I heard people who have never had chickens are buying 20 to 30 chicks at a time, because they have no clue how hard it is to brood that many chicks nor how much space they are gonna need when they get bigger.
:thI know! It’s so sad! I have 4 baby chicks in a large brooder right now.

Where are you in WA? Are you close to Tacoma? We have a nice hen who's getting picked on, and might be open to giving her away (have to talk to DH first because he really likes her) if you're nearby (or don't mind a drive to pick her up) and have a safe coop to keep her in at night. She'd probably be happier with just one other hen than with all our mean girls and bossy rooster.

Our issue is, the coop is a bit too small for now, since our neighbors moved and gave us their 6 hens. We're in the process of building a bigger yard, but wouldn't mind reducing numbers for now until we get the project done. When it's done, I'm sure we'll have no trouble increasing the flock again, once some of these "30-chicks-at-a-time" beginners start dumping them off in the woods at the end of our road. We already got one this way...
