I'm in need of a vet that will see one of my girls. My regular vet doesn't see chickens, and recommended the UC Hospital. I need a vet I can call on if needed. One of my girls needs to be seen. Can any one make a recommendation?

What's wrong with your girl? Are you certain that it's something you can't at least start to treat on your own until you get a lead on a local vet?

Hi, I would post this in the Northern California thread as well, a lot of the regulars on that thread live in your area. I believe they will tell you UC Davis, but I'm not sure. I'm a couple hours south of you.

I'm sure she is prolapsing. She's a young chicken and never laid an egg before. I've soaked her in warm water, and given her some calcium, but nothing. I don't want her to suffer. :-(

Have you tried feeling inside to see if there is an egg? By the way I PM'ed you. Can you post a picture?

Ask your vet for a referral.

Thank you @casportpony . I knew you'd come through on this one. I read all of your stuff, cuz I'm a new chicky mommy and want to be prepared for everything that I can be prepared for. You are my hero!!!

@casportpony is everyone's hero! She's always there with good advice.
