Ok, so I used:
1 sheet of 4'x8'x2" rigid foam insulation
1 can of expandable pond waterfall foam
2 quarts of flex seal liquid rubber (1blk 1wht)
Mixed together to make shades of grey
3 aerosol cans of flex seal liquid rubber (1clr 1blk 1wht)
2 tubes clear 100% silicone caulk
1 300gph pond pump
6ft 1.25" pond housing
1 large mortar mixing tub
1 3" kitchen sink drain
Some random PVC pieces to direct the water over my garden and into the actual pond in my backyard
I used my angle grinder to shape the foam into stone facets as well as disposable/eject-ible? able? Utility blades to cut away larger clefts and used cut pieces to glue "stalactites" to the edges randomly. I used a jigsaw to cut the foam sheets into the correct shape. Once I cut the shape I applied silicone caulk an 1" to an 1.25" in from the edge of each sheet and applied the next and the next and next.... I let dry over night and shaped the next day (Very Messy!) I did it in my well ventilated furniture spray booth. After ground and shaped I applied the expanding pond foam randomly and aesthetically pleasingly ; let dry.....then applying many coats of flex coat with brushes, dry brushes, and the black and white spray to achieve a "stone look". Once I was pleased with the color and effect I applied MANY coats of clear flex seal and let dry.
After I had let it dry I rinsed it with water several times.....flex seal is pond safe but I really wanted to remove any residue if any.
I ran the hose up the back of my aviary and dropped the falls into the corner! I saw similar sized fountains on amazon for 1100$ I spent 150$ including the pump!
So it turned out in my agressive grinding had zipped a few pin holes so u used a scrap of plywood a 2"x4" and left over pond liner to make a tray to direct any wayward leaks.
