I'll try in the morning... thx
6 hens. Run dimensions: 11' length, 4' width. Could use some enrichment. What is shown here is the comb tear, though hard to discern. It's flopping forward to the side and has open wound that's healing. After two days, peroxide still fizzed a little. The black is dried blood. I'm thinking another day before adding her back in. And putting up new roost for enrichment.Hello and welcome to BYC!Glad you joined.
Comb and wattle injuries bleed profusely. How much space does your flock have per bird in both the coop and the run? Are they free ranged?
I have had many birds get injuries and bleed like the dickens but no one ever attacked them. They have a 1/3 acre pen with large planting arrangements under which to seek shelter as well as a very large run with a solid roof over it, full of wood chips, stumps, chairs and branches to perch on. Lots of things to do other than fixate on the bright red blood from an injured flockmate.
I would stop with the peroxide as it kills healthy tissue as well. You might mix up a saline solution, 1 cup water and add 1/2 teaspoon salt, bring to a boil long enough to dissolve the salt. Let it cool, you can dab or spray it on her comb. I would keep her away from the flock for at least a week, 2 days may not be enough to heal and you don't want to reopen these wounds. Give her a hug for me!View attachment 3612713View attachment 3612713

That way too small. I suggest trying to double the area.6 hens. Run dimensions: 11' length, 4' width. Could use some enrichment
That's not enough. What do they have to scratch through? What all is in the run?And putting up new roost for enrichment.
