If it's a quality animal you're looking for, you should really be prepared to pay for it. 'Cheap' and 'quality' generally don't go together, and if they do, I'd be a little suspicious of the 'quality'.
Normally I would suggest going to a reptile show but yeah that's not going to happen any time soon! kingsnake.com used to be a good place to find herps, at least back in the day. Otherwise I'd suggest googling around for chameleon breeders, or reptile forums that you can ask.
You do see reptiles for sale a lot on Craigslist and similar sites, but you have to be very careful with those because sadly a lot of times they come from situations where their husbandry wasn't up to snuff. That 'free' or 'cheap' animal can end up costing a lot in vet fees. However if you're into rescuing and rehabbing critters that may not bother you.
