Looking for another broody

Want 230+ large eggs per year. Dual purpose if possible.

Any go-to breeds come to mind?? I was going to give Sussex a whirl.

Well, they're usually slightly bigger than the large store eggs, so I guess they would be considered large?

Orpington? Mine laid every day, even through winter. Went broody a few times, too.

I think you're going to have a really hard time getting that many eggs per year from a hen that also takes time off to go broody.

I once had a Chantecler hen that laid regularly all winter, and went broody one time after another all summer (Partridge Chantecler from Ideal Poultry, about a decade ago. I don't know if it was a breed trait or if mine was just weird, because I only had one of that breed.)

Wyandottes can be broody and usually do about 200 eggs per year.

Don't knock small/ med eggs...My silkies go broody all the time and even though they lay small eggs, they are the best eggs for deviled eggs ever!
No seriously have you checked out Rocks? Mine went broody and were good duel purpose birds that laid decent too.

I have 8 Plymouth rocks and my barnyard broody. I didn’t think hatchery rocks went broody that often.
I don’t know the age of my broody. I’ve had her for a couple years, and she had Spurs when I got her. I’m just looking to have a backup broody
