Speckled Sussex

I have bantam Speckled Sussex. As a whole they are inquisitive, friendly, and some are extremely chatty. Some hens got broody, some never have. I've raised four roosters, three were great. The hens lay well, not daily, but I don't mind.

Three of my hens:

Year olds on the left, 2yo on the right. They get whiter with each molt.

Zaccheus is molting, usually he has gorgeous sickle tail feathers.

My chicks arrived today from Meyer hatchery, they are healthy and very lively, I’m going to hydrate them for a couple of hours then give them some feed, they are drinking lots of water.

For some reason I like the looks of this breed, so I ordered 15 chicks from Meyer hatchery, they should be here this week.
Has anyone ever raised this breed?
From what I understand they are a dual purpose breed, having a decent body size and a good egg layer.
in my experience speckled sussex are incredibly smart they learn quickly so they are incredibly easy to befriend they are also typically very gentle tho personality varies on each bird as with every breed. another thing to note is that they will get more white in their plumage as they age a unique characteristic of the breed.

i have 2 ss

rn they arent a year old yet they will be in feb

but this is what they look like right now well one of them i couldnt find any photos of jessica but i also added some photos of what they look like as they get they age

How are your Sussex chickens doing?
They are doing good, my daughter n law has them on my other ranch where they live, about 1 1/2 hours from where I live, I will be hatching some out next spring along with some Wyandottes and New Hampshire reds.
Sorry I don’t have any current pictures, but they are beautiful, for some reason I always liked this breed.

I only have 1 and she's starting to lay eggs. She isn't as friendly as I thought she would be. I think my JG and Lakenvelders follow me the most. She is beautiful.

I may as well add the more recent development: our Speckled Sussex is the only hen who will fly up and perch on one's arm or shoulder, and she'll eat from your hand while doing so.
