Same I think if I could have a rooster I would try some weird Marans line crosses to see if its true what everybody says about it lightening up egg color I would cross these Davis birds to my Jeane birds and then try and find something else to mess around with in their

Hi Guys!

I have been gone all day! I picked up eggs tonight and ried to take a picture with my "MACRO" button--like you told me. I had my Marans chart sitting there and when hubbie came in I asked him--"Where do you think this falls?" He has no clue about chicken eggs, so I was pretty happy when he pointed to the SIX!

I thought that is where it was, too. Here is the pic--though it isnt as pretty here as it is in person.

I tend to agree. On the screen it is closest to a "6" on my shade card.

It's actually a great picture. Are you happy with it? I mean, you JUST learned about the macro "flower" last night! No flash-back on the egg (you know that little white dot that always shows on eggs). Believe it or now, I also have good luck on using the red eye reduction on egg pics, too. I know it's a pain (because you have to wait for that second flash), but it works!

How many eggs laid, now?

I actually mark them when I pick them up. I have a felt pen that hangs on the handle of my egg bucket so that I dont mix up eggs out of different pens. BUT YES it is going to the bator!

How did your paper go you were writing last night???
