Hi I'm new at this. I'm going to start raising my first flock this spring. My plan is to have 11 hens raising them from day old pullets.including 2 barred rocks 2 olive eggers 2 americanas 2 golden comets 2 marons that lay the darkest brown eggs and 1 buff orpington to make 11. Is there anyone out there that know where I can get all these birds?

You can order from hatcheries around the country. Murray McMurray, Meyers, My Pet Chicken, to name a few. You can also head over to your states thread to chat with others in your area as to where you might find these breeds close by to you....

Thank you for your advice I appreciate your feedback.I honestly truly want to go with local folks to achieve my desired result.Anyone at all local that can help me with a solution?
 
Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! X2 what TwoCrows suggested, post in the NY state thread she gave for the best chance of finding local birds. You might also want to check out and search the Buy-Sell-Trade forum and its archives.
 
go to "where am I, where are you," to find and post on your state thread. This would be the best way to find local sources. While a hatchery may have many breeds, some locals may have only a couple. You pretty much would have to buy from several sources - they would likely be different ages and be somewhat more difficult to integrate into your flock.
