looking for chicks in central Indiana

I'm also looking at options for where to buy chicks near Greencastle IN. I just want about 4-6 chicks to start. I want great layers that are gentle and not broody. I"m looking at Big R in Crawfordsville. Does anyone else have good ideas where to purchase baby chicks in the next month? Thanks!

When people mention great layers they usually include red or black sex links and Black Australorps. I believe all three are docile but, you can always get one who doesn't fit that mold..

Check craigslist, Facebook and local papers. My local Facebook has a group for chickens, maybe you have one too. Try searching Backyard Chickens of Indiana or Indiana poultry sales, Thats what mine are under and EVERYONE is always hatching and selling on there lol. Know what breeds you like before you "binge buy" them though.

I just came from Rural King in
Greenwood and they have a very large selection of chicks. I just got my Black Sex Links.
