So this is a real gene? I have one girl. I definitely will see if it repeats in my nextHello! I'm new on this forum but I am looking for someone who has curly button quail and would be willing to ship their eggs to Oregon? the one person i knew off no longer has quail ;( Thank you for any thoughts!!!
FYI, this thread is 16 years old, and the person you're replying to hasn't been on in about that long. Most of the "curly feather" quail that you will see is the result of malnutrition. While you may find some with this mutation, it causes a malformation of the feathers that is likely uncomfortable if not outright painful for the birds. So this is a real gene? I have one girl. I definitely will see if it repeats in my next![]()
Check your nutritional values on your feed your feeding or from the breeder you got the birds from, most likely it's a nutritional issue and not genetics. So this is a real gene? I have one girl. I definitely will see if it repeats in my next![]()
