Hi there, I have a male button at the moment unfortunatly his mate died recently :-( they had desperatly been trying to incubate their own eggs they had a few attempts with making nests and sitting on them but no joy. I went to move the eggs after the female passed away as they had been left and forgotten about but now the male is sitting on them all the time. I would love to swap them for some fertilzed eggs but would it be best for me to get incubater and once hatched introduce them !? Would love to hear some thoughts . Based in north yorkshire for eggs/chick collection. Thank you

the male usually only helps the hen

but now she is gone i don't know what he is thinking

he may sit but not raise them or may do its hard to tell

I'd say get the incubator out and get some eggs

i would offer eggs but my quails just hatched yesterday and today so too young for eggs need to wait 8 weeks or so

:)
