Also, I see ducks available all the time on my local craigslist farm and garden section.. I'm too much of a stickler for disease prevention and biosecurity.. for my other birds safety.. (with all the outbreaks of HPAI) but it might be an option for you.

While it might stink to wait for maturity for eggs.. I'm under the impression ducks are seasonal layers anyways?? It may depend on the breed.
