Looking for Hatchery with No/Low Minimum

I don't really have an opinion on it yet, I don't know enough about it. I guess I never even thought about it before I saw it was an option. The last girls we bought were our first and we bought them at Tractor Supply (back when the 'chicken-world' was very new to me!). Are those ones vaccinated before they are shipped out? I just tried calling and asking but I completely confused the girl that answered, she just kept saying, "But we don't have any right now." I'll just ask next time I go in, there is a nice older gentleman that works that that has helped me out a lot in the past! He'll know!

I'm not anit-vax either. I think I feel the same as you but we don't really have a lot of turkeys. There are some free range chickens but I've never seen them (or any tracks of them) on our property in the entire year we've been here.

Getting the vaccine is cheaper than crying over and trying to doctor your flock if they get it from somewhere. I'm paranoid and vaccinate even the chicks I hatch at home. They can still contract Marek's and be carriers, but are less likely to die from the symptoms apparently.

I live in michigan and i ordered from my pet chicken. I had to order 6 standard chicks to keep them warm, none of them died and if you hae to sell one or two once you recieve them. And the minimum order for my bantams was either 8 or 9 but 1 died on the way here and the other one was very sick and could walk or anything and it figures that that was the one that i reaelly wanted. ( they were both silkies that died)

Ha, I highly doubt out Tractor Supply even knows what it means to vaccinate a chick for Marek's. I thinkouts gets them from Meyers, and they don't vaccinate them. Those are usualyl staight-run, though, so if you want pullets,I would stick with a hatchery that can sex them for you. I still like Ideal. They also will add males for warmth, last year I had 15 RIR roosters.

I thought my 11 RIR roos "added for warmth" was a record. LOLOL

we ship 8-24 chicks at one time. I make the area in the box smaller and add a 60 hour heat pack. They are also shipped express. They seem to do very well.

Oh no! Did they replace them?

I ordered from MPC and also ordered 2 Silkies.

No they wouldnt replace them unless i bought 7 other ones to go with them, so i got my money back though
