I just joined Backyard Chickens. I don't raise chickens but someone abandoned a hen in our neighborhood and I am trying to find a way to help her find a new home. The hen has camped out in a common area in our townhome subdivision. I am very concerned for her safety given various predators and traffic in our area. I have attempted to get close to the hen several times but she is very spooked. We have fed the hen several times and she seems to be in good health
I live in Atlanta. If anyone can provide help or advice, I would very much appreciate as hate to see any animal put into such a dire situation
Also, I located an animal sanctuary which offered to provide her a home but they will not assist with trapping the chicken, which would appear to be very challenging

Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do.
