Looking For Help On Lighting For Egg Production

Quote:
I love Southern Oregon ! I would live there in a minute if I could . My husband went to high school in Jackson County . He still has family there ... and in Klamath falls . So pretty .

My light is on from 5 am - 8am because at our latitude we can't get 14 hours of light for laying.
I prefer the morning light because it helps light my way to the bran in the morning and because it avoids the problem of a light going off after dark. Most of the eggs are in the nest boxes before I complete my chores, before breakfast.

I'm averaging 9 eggs a day from 12 hens of the same age- 18 months.
