Ahhhh, Rock fan... you just made my day. I don't charge anything. I actually put money in a jar when new members ask a "certain question"... the 2 cents came into play because I "fished" for the question from a certain new member and gave the new member my "2 cent" opinion... I'm not good with math and adding nickels was so much easier before I stuck my foot out.![]()
Anyway, I just believe that people should put more time and effort learning about something that is "alive" than they do for a cell phone they're thinking about buying. One day, the power grid will fall, and cell phones will be obsolete, and no, I'm not a prepper. I just think that 90% of the food we eat has been so "genetically altered" that we will kill ourselves with food (and don't get me started on the Colony Collapse Disorder with the honey bees or the species of vegetables that have been made extinct by big seed companies like Montsanto). When I was in high school, I don't remember girls being as "developed" as they are these days. And that's because the farmer has to feed his cows and chickens growth hormones to get them to the market to break even or make a profit. That growth hormone is then consumed by our kids in the form of chicken McNuggets combined with the fact that most kids physical activity involves the X-box or other gaming device. Have you noticed that nobody really wants to find the "cure" for obesity? The pharmeceutical (sp?) companies are making crazy money on pills for diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol and cardiovascular disease, so why find a cure that will put themselves out of business? My doctor at the VA "recommended" that I read a book by Dr. Dean Ornish due to my high cholesterol levels. Dean Ornish is a published Cardiologist who has found that a plant based diet can reverse cardiovascular disease and slow certain cancers. He worked for Prez & Mrs Clinton after Bill had his triple bypass surgery and totally reversed his heart disease. One of his books, the Spectrum, actually has scientific data to back up his claims. He doesn't state this in his book(s), but if quail eggs are packed with HDL, then I want to eat as many as I can.
OK, Now, I want to extend a sincere apology to all the people out there who have read my off topic rant, and wished they had those last 2 minutes of their lives back.
