Looking for helpful tips on incubating my own eggs.

I am wanting to start hatching my own chicks, and looking for helpful tips on starting. What is the best incubator with the best hatch rate? Any other tips is greatly appreciated!

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. I don't know that they are necessarily the best, but I've always had a good hatch rate using the Hovabator Styrofoam incubators with air circulating fan and auto egg turner. Whatever incubator you get however, I would strongly recommend getting one with an air circulating fan and an automatic egg turner which makes a world of difference in the hatch rate. The one i have been looking into is the pro series circulated air incubator with automatic egg turner. Its on the more expensive side but i was a successful hatch rate! So im willing to put in the extra money for a good bator. This will be my first time hatching my own, however I have raised chicks just not hatched my own.

Hi and welcome to BYC - glad that you have joined us. Theres lots of threads on incubators - in fact some as recent as a few days ago - so search for something like "best incubator?" and see what comes up. I have never used them, as i prefer my broody alpha hen to do all the hatching i need - its not necessarily convenient, but it makes raising chicks very easy.

The incubators mentioned are all good and would work fine, but a DIY one is very cheap and gives great hatch rates.
