Looking for mini dachshund please!

Hi!
My dad is looking for a mini dachshund(wiener dog) puppy, preferably short haired(but will consider long-haired). My dad has a lab/mini dachshund named Riley, who is black and short haired. But he's getting old and it will be very sad when he passes away, so my dad wants another mini dachshund companion. Requirements:

Short haired(will consider long-haired)
Mini Dachshund(can be a mix)
Any color
Male(only...)
Age: young(puppy)
Price: no more than around $400(maybe $500....?)


ALSO, you must live in Maine, unless you are willing to drive or ship.

Have you checked your local paper or Craigslist? We also always have a lot of dogs posted for sale at our local farm supply stores back on the bulletin boards.

That would be really awesome if a BYCer could help you out with your new puppy.
To assist you with your search here are some other options.
Petfinder Rescues seldom gets puppies so you may want to try Puppyfind.com,
breed clubs, or meet up groups on meetup.com to find a puppy locally.
It is always best to find a reputable breeder if you are set on a puppy.
There are many dogs that need homes now and it would be wonderful to find a slightly older puppy
from a family who cant keep it any longer, too.

We have a chocolate mini girl and a silver dapple tri-colored boy who are hopefully expecting their first litter in February. So she may have one or possible two. They both have parents(both moms) who were long haired so there is that in the mix of genes. What color are you looking for? What size of mini are you looking for tiny or just mini? Some minis are so tiny they really need like the poodles another name like teacups as the poodles have. My girl could almost be a tiny but not really. Hope you find what you are looking for. I am hoping for a chocolate dapple with long hair. Saw one but could not afford the price. The dapples are not cheap...our pair is akc
