Looking for mommy day out ideas

Heather,.. ya dont have to spend money, Silly goose! Just go for a ride! Enjoy a nice day .. stop and check out scenic places,... get out and have a picnic.. something like that.

Can't really escape more than a few hours at this point. We are living on my parents farm helping out right now. My dad fell from a barn roof and my mom has trouble moving around and gets overwhelmed easily. So we are pretty tied down to work at this point. Its just us for help on the farm and there is a ton to do. My parents keep adding projects too so even if there wasn't they would create more to do lol. I feel a little guilty today about my time off yesterday but I do feel better. I'm already trying to figure out how to get ahead of all my work to steal a couple hours again.

It was nice to read about your time out, with your DD, we do that twice a year here, before school and before Christmas. Yes they are still thing that "have" to be done, but really enjoy taking kids to the mall. Expensive for doing more then twice a year here though..

I really enjoy taking DD for a picnic by the water. It's a lovely walk and a great view. I'm on one of the Canadian/ USA borders. We watch people driving across the big bridge, and talk about things were seeing around us..

Do you have a park, that you liked as a little girl, or that sepcial spot that you would escape to as a pre-teen?

We've also started geocaching, once you buy the gps unit you need. The rest is free. We've learned so much about our area, and little hidden gems around we never would've had the time to "find" on our own.. Neat to just stop to do on the way to somewhere, for a little find.

Enjoy!!!

There are things we can do, most the time we are just too busy to do them. Between taking care of parents, kids and the farm I feel lucky to sleep some days lol. I just enjoyed this so much I will have to find some time to do this again. My daughter wants to do this instead of having a party this year. Just her and a girlfriend going to the mall, getting smelly lotion and maybe some hair stuff and then out to lunch together. She is still all excited about it. She really craves "girl time". Just with the 3 others, alone time with just me and her is not feasible many times. So yea, this is more a special treat. If we can do something together every couple months or so that would be nice.
