Have been using a 5 gallon bucket with auto fill gravity cups that I made outside of the coop. Looking at getting a new one , debating between a "Little Giant" , "Rent a Coop" that is made assembled, or suggestions on one that is durable, easy to clean and fill and doesn't fill with algae. Going to be for 10 free range Rhode Island Blue after raised from chicks.

Every last waterer I’ve had has gotten algae in it. But maybe that’s just me. It definitely helps to keep the water cool and out direct sunlight.

We just use a plastic short horse feed bucket inside the coop with a hook on the wall for the handle so it doesn't spill. Easy to clean, easy to fill. We cap it off daily and change the water every other day. It's probably a couple gallons or so. It supplies plenty for our 17-25 bird flock.

Ours are DYI 5-gallon horizontal nipple buckets. Going back 8-9 years ago, we were finding slime and teal-colored stringy, slimy things in it. We have well water. We tried ACV, didn't work.

I remembered we had a bottle of RV water purifier under the sink, so we measured out 1/2 teaspoon. That did the trick and for 8 years, we've never had an issue again.
