I have four orps and I have NO clue what they are and I was wondering if some of you had some pics of six week old orps handy you could share with me? I'm thinking I have several hens going on here

I hope anyhow. Either that or I have ALL roosters. They all seem to look the same

Usually I can tell by now because their will be a noticeable difference between hens and roosters so maybe I have all hens! They don't have very big combs yet and little waddles as well. I'm going to try to get some pics if I can over the weekend. I have to work from 1pm to 11pm tomorrow so no time to do it tomorrow.

I just looked through my orp pictures, and I don't have any pictures between 3 weeks and 12 weeks. Sorry! I've never had an orp cockerel before, so I can't even give input on how quickly they look like boys. Good luck!

Cheeto the roo at around weeks-

His sisters Frito and Dorito at around 6 weeks-

Does this help? It was very apparent that Cheeto was a rooster at about this age. His comb and wattles were distinctly different from the girls.

for all hens!

Boy he has a really red comb. Mine don't have red combs yet but their waddles are looking red already. I think I may end up with 3 roo's and one hen but I'm hoping not

I will only be able to keep two of the four if that is the case

Miss Prissy, I'm working on getting pics up soon but we are down to one computer and it's not always working right. I hate to bug hubby all the time to get the pics on here for me as he's always so busy but I'm going to see about getting them on here tomorrow. I think the splash is a girl but I am thinking I have three boys with the 2 blacks and the blue. I was hoping I would have the opposite so I could keep them ALL

But now I'm not so sure. They are SO beautiful too! I'm hoping that I can find good homes for the roos that I can't keep.

Here's my pullet at 5 weeks old (Sorry, i don't have 6 week old photos)

Edited to add: Picture of her a month later (when she was 9 weeks old). Just starting to pink up in the face and getting wattles.

One of my pullets also had red wattles and a comb at this age. In fact, I waffled over whether that one was a pullet or a more submissive cockeral. Finally she laid an egg and I went with A.

Good luck!

for all girls!

Thanks everyone for the great pictures. MAYBE I do have pullets. They aren't quite as red as the six week old or the nine week olds in the pictures

I'm hoping! They will be seven weeks old on the 24th and none are really red in the comb yet but their little waddles have some red in it.
