Hello all. I am looking for some fertile hatching eggs from Coturnix quail. It has been quite the process this spring. I have bought three batches of eggs from ebay, 132 eggs total. And as of now have one 5 week old quail in the outdoor pen. To say it’s been a disappointment is an accurate description. My daughter keeps waiting for all the chicks hatch like every other year, and nothing. Not sure if I’m getting lame eggs or it’s the usps not treating them well. I usually have high hatch rates as my incubator holds temp and the humidity right where I want it. I e never had this issue and really want to get this years flock going. Thanks to anyone who can offer up some help or recommend a good place to get some.

You may get more responses including a location or posting in your country/state thread! :)

As for the low hatch rates, you may want to try posting in the incubating and hatching eggs forum. My first thought would be because they’re shipped. But I’d make a new thread there and include things like, what stage do they die? As that will likely point out what’s wrong. Also you may want to try buying local eggs or adult birds.

Ok. Thank you for your tips. I have tried and cannot find any local birds or eggs. I have raised hundreds of birds every year for the past 6. Just can’t figure out why this spring is being such a pain. Never had an issue before.
