I would love to try hatching out some eggs from my Silver Appleyard ducks but I hear that duck eggs can be trickier than chicken eggs. Does anyone have any good advice on a compact incubator that worked well for them? I'm looking to hatch no more than 6 eggs at a time. Photos of my flock because they're just so cute!

Your ducks are so pretty! Casportpony suggested a good incubator. My Magicfly was pretty decent too, but it's not as good of quality as the Brinseas. I love my NR 360, but it's a bit bigger than what you're wanting. I think ducks are easier to hatch than chickens, honestly. I almost always have better hatch rates on my ducks than on my chickens.

Thanks so much! I think they're pretty spectacular, although right now the boys are molting so they're looking a little sad and ragged 😅 Silver Appleyards are rare (at least in my area) so they get a lot of attention. Just about everyone I've asked has recommended a Brinsea or some sort of another, so there seems to be consensus! I heard that humidity levels have to be watched more closely with ducks than chickens because the Mamas nest on the ground and are usually wet themselves when they come back to sit on the nest. In a controlled environment like an incubator it probably doesn't really make a difference, but I've never tried to hatch chicken or ducks before so I want to make sure my ~$200 investment is a good one.

Yes, Brinseas are very expensive. I would go with either a NR 360 or an Incuview if I were you. You don't need to fill them, but should you ever need to they can accomodate 22 eggs. They are both under $200, and I think better for the price then Brinseas. You could always sell it afterwards too. My NR is so reliable, I never worry about a thing with it. Brinseas seem good, but I don't understand the pricing.
