Can someone please help me out here?

OK, I don't get it. I've just spent the last couple days searching the web for info on breeders/clubs/shows within roughly 250 miles of where I am, with breeds I'm looking for. (dorking, araucana, marans, cochins (bantam))

the results? MOST of what I've found is either out of date, the emails bounce, or doesn't have any sort of contact information to begin with.

I can't see that the birds take up so much of a person's time that they can't update their contact information, website or whatever when info changes. I mean they had the time to create the web page in the first place, so why not keep the info current?

I searched for shows and swap meets in the va, wv, nc areas. i found a swapmeet from last may, another one from last fall, and a show from earlier this year too... one page made mention of a swap coming up in october, but didn't give a location date or anything else I could use, and had no contact info on the page that I could use to ask about it...

I'm a web admin for 2 websites that I run in my spare time, plus work a full time job, run 2 dogs in agility classes, have 4 horses, chickens and a husband, and somehow i still have time to update my websites when needed and play WoW to boot... not to mention building sheds, coops, etc when the weather permits LOL.. ok i'm done ranting. for now.

(sorry if I posted this in the wrong forum)

We are having a Chickenstock the end of this month if you are interested? The location is not too far from my house.

There are also several shows here in NC that will start back up coming in October, a couple are in Morganton, NC, one will be in Winston-Salem and one in Smithfield. Hope this info helps a bit.

What color of Marans are you looking for? I have gold cuckoo's and a single wheaten cockerel. I also have a few black bantam cochin cockerels available as well.

The black copper is my favorite of the marans, tho i have seen some blues and blue splash that were nice too (but i don't think it's a standard color?) but I'm roo-heavy at the moment. LOL 12 assorted bantams, 8 hens 4 roos LOL that's what i get for the tractor supply special I guess. I'm planning on keeping the crele oegb and debating between the japanese (very good quality IMO for a hatchery bird) and the sultan (nicknamed 'funky') for comic relief 8) the porcelain d'uccle isn't spectacular or particularly interesting so is either going to get re-homed or cooked... depending on how long my patience with him lasts (he's pushy and mean to the girls).

I'm especially partial to bantams (cochins #1, oegb #2 favorites) but looking for a heritage, dual purpose bird, and especially like the silver-grey dorking. and i want some color/variety so want to add a small flock of marans (black copper) and araucanas (golden duckwing).

as for meets/shows I work weekends so distance/times would have to be worked out... the closer the better of course.
