Hey everyone, one of my Lakenvelders has a hurt leg/foot. I had to separate my Roos and am now getting rid of them. She was a target, they wouldn't even let her eat. She is now started eating a bit and is growing, but walks with a limp. She still sits under the cedar tree a lot and peeps. Hoping someone might know from a video of it's a break or strain?

It won't let me upload, saying file is too large. Anyone I could email it too?

You can post a video to YouTube, and post a link here. Sprains or even broken bones can be possible. That might require some forced rest in a crate, but left with the other chickens to remain part of the flock. Put in her own food and water, and I like to use some Vitamin B complex--1/2 tablet daily in the food or in a treat. If you are able to get a vet to xray the limb, that could rule out a fracture.

Thank you very much!! I posted the video on the backyard chickens FB page!! It's under Tracey Lynn is my name on FB!

No cuts or sores, I don't think I see any swelling? She did actually do a little better today, when I went to check them, she was out from under the cedar tree and laying down on the grass with a couple of other girls! First time she's been out in the open since I removed the boys! If you tell me your name on FB, I will tag you in the post. I really just don't want to set up a YouTube account! LOL!!
