Looking for the Georgia Thread - Anyone near Savannah??

Hi!

We are possibly looking to move to GA - for the long long term. We were wondering what the ordinances are on having chickens in places like Midway, Hinesville or anywhere around Savannah.

We had bunches and bunches of chickens here in NY but I'm selling off the last of them tomorrow (my last 20) and would still like to have some down there! They are so much fun to watch and we love the fresh eggs along with all the neat breeds.

So here's hoping someone will see this post and be able to give us some info!

Looking forward to moving back South out of all this cold and Snow - Love the snow and some cold - just NOT FOR sooooo many months! Looking forward to Sand, Sun, Heat, Crepe Myrtles and everything else I've missed!

And the 110% humidity, flying roaches, the mosquitos the size of C17s, ticks, gnats...........


Azaleas, camellias, fresh seafood, iced tea, deep fried anything.........

I'm in the country and we have no restrictions. Neighbor has horses and a donkey, several neighbors have chickens, I hear the crows.

You should definitely post in that thread; I know there are people on here from the Savannah area.

thank you so much! Yes I remember Flying Roaches in SC! My Ex Mother in Law used to call them Palmetto Bugs - I told her they were stinking flying Roaches! We have giant mosquitoes here along with black flies that will eat you up here in certain areas like where I live in the foothills of the Adirondacks!

Used to funky bugs thanks to the Tidewater of Va, SC and TN.
