Hi Everyone,
For a year or so now, I've been contemplating having a few hens in the backyard. Only the last few weeks did my thoughts begin to become a reality. As a email member of the Pinellas County Extension Unit (where I learned last year how to compost and rain harvest) I received this months class schedule and discovered "Chicken 101" offered on May 19th. I quickly enrolled wanting to learn as much as I could about my new hobby, before accepting these little lives into my care.
Then last week, I met a lady that breeds and sells chics along with a man that will build and deliver a coop to my home. And may I say for a very reasonable price.
Today, I discovered BYC. It's all coming together. How exciting!
Any members that live in the Clearwater, Fl area, I would love to accept any tips and advice you may have to offer.
Looking forward to sharing experiences with everyone.
Cindy
